Our 2024 Limited Edition Holiday Ornament features the historic Kanandarque Cottage in Southern Pines. This late Queen Anne was built in 1901 as a resort cottage for Henry and Lilian Southerland of Canandaigua, New York, it was acquired in the 1930s by Dr. George Herr, a dentist who lived there and converted the south side of the porch into an office. ⠀
Two wood options are available: Cherry (dark) and Maple (light)
Attached to the ornament is a vintage velvet ribbon, adding a nostalgic touch. Crafted by Moore County artisan Kirstee Hayes of Freedom Fox Ltd, this ornament serves not only as a decorative piece but also as a timeless reminder of the stories and lives intertwined with the historic house it represents.
All proceeds go to The Pines Preservation Guild’s mission of providing Historic Preservation advocacy and educational support for Moore County residents.
