With notes of nutmeg, clove, apple, pine + sandalwood, this candle is the perfect way to welcome Fall into your home! Made with 100% pure Soywax, Phathalate free Fragrances and use a lead free Cotton Wick -- the result is a cleaner burning candle (you'll notice the glass hardly has any soot after burning). Being free of toxins, carcinogens and pollutants also means they are less likely to trigger allergies or headaches. Soy Wax burns cooler, which results in a longer burning candle (30-50% longer than Paraffin Candles).

Remember: Candles are a fire hazard. Keep away from anything flammable and do not burn for more than 4 hours. Trim wick to 1/8" prior to every burn.

Welcome to Against the Grain Shoppe, your destination in downtown Southern Pines for exceptional, locally crafted goods. Nestled at 220 NW Broad Street, our shop is more than a store — it’s a celebration of North Carolina makers, creative spirit, and thoughtful design.

Founded in 2012 as a home‑based furniture and décor business, Against the Grain evolved into a full storefront in March 2019. Owner Ashley Tramontin has created a cherished hub for artisans, locals, and visitors alike.

The heart of our mission is a commitment to local and small businesses. Over 90% of our inventory is sourced from North Carolina based makers — many from Moore County. Ranging from local pottery + artwork to handturn pens + etched glassware, our inventory is always changing - so stop by, say hello and see what's new!
