Welcome to Against the Grain Shoppe, your destination in downtown Southern Pines for exceptional, locally crafted goods. Nestled at 220 NW Broad Street, our shop is more than a store — it’s a celebration of North Carolina makers, creative spirit, and thoughtful design.

Founded in 2012 as a home‑based furniture and décor business, Against the Grain evolved into a full storefront in March 2019. Owner Ashley Tramontin has created a cherished hub for artisans, locals, and visitors alike.

The heart of our mission is a commitment to local and small businesses. Over 90% of our inventory is sourced from North Carolina based makers — many from Moore County. Ranging from local pottery + artwork to handturn pens + etched glassware, our inventory is always changing - so stop by, say hello and see what's new!
